Local Schools invited to view working pit and presentation on restoration and sustainable development issues. Venue: China Clay Country Park, Wheal Martyn – Visit to Littlejohns Pit. Coach trips have been arranged to take school parties up to Littlejohns Pit viewing platform to learn about a working pit and processes involved in the extraction of china clay. Whilst on the coach trip there will be an opportunity to view restoration work in progress. Back at the China Clay Country Park there will be an opportunity to walk through the interactive experience of how the local clay industry was 200 years ago. An exhibition of the proposed Clay Country Vision which aims to create a balance between a rich and diverse environment, a vibrant and inclusive society and a productive economy that enables this and future generations to enjoy a better quality of life will be on display.
