Northstone (NI) Ltd Quarry & Asphalt Division is opening its gates to their local community. Visitors will see first-hand how Gritstone is extracted and processed and learn its different used in everyday life including the importance of Gritstone on our roads and recent major project in and around Belfast. They will also find out about biodiversity in their local quarries from the Quarry Products Association NI’s Biodiversity’s Officer and get up close and personal with a peregrine falcon specially brought along by the Northern Ireland Raptor Study Group who carries out breeding surveys of raptors in Northstone’s quarries. The event is free to attend, but people are being asked to register on the phone number below so that numbers can be monitored.
