Robinson Quarry Masters is hosting a special visit to Craig’s Quarry to celebrate European Minerals Day 2009. Children from Broughshane Primary School will join Minister of the Environment Sammy Wilson MP MLA at the quarry to learn about basalt extraction, processing, quarry products manufactured on site, and the wealth of biodiversity that flourishes – including breeding peregrines, breeding moorhens, and an array of wild flowers. Manager Stephen Robinson will be explaining to the children and the Minister how he manages his everyday operations and has enhanced local biodiversity through local provenance native tree planting project with the Northern Ireland Conservation Volunteers.
