In the afternoon the programme continued with visit to the limestone quarry, the adjacent famous Karst cave, and the Museum of the Czech Karst and Geopark in Beroun, where the day ended in style with a nice walking dinner and a photo exhibition on nature and mining.

The objective of the day was to give the guests the opportunity to learn more about the mining activities, mineral applications, and the local biodiversity projects. (see VCS hand out attached here below for background information in English and Czech)

The Launch Event was kindly hosted by Lhoist and HeidelbergCement.
